“ORKONTAS” restaurant and refreshment shop dates back to 1922 and is situated 7km down the valley from Kalopanayiotis.
The mountain spring water of Orkontas is the landmark of the ORKONTAS restaurant and has been the reason leading to the restaurant’s establishment in 1922. It started as a “rest place” i.e. a kind of a “way side inn” and gradually developed into a major spot for traveller’s heading up the Marathasa valley, Kykko Monastery and Troodos.
For many years, “ORKONTAS” has been offering a great variety of traditional dishes and delicacies served at reasonable prices. “ORKONTAS” can serve up to 1000 guests in the open and 300 guests indoors.
