Activities (Summary)
- Short opening ceremony (including treats), after a local choir parade
- Closing day:
- Morning:
- a) Holly Liturgy with Baptism of the Cross into the river
- b) Breakfast (offered by the Community Board)
Afternoon: Short closing ceremony
- ‘Christmas House’: Children could write their season’s greetings and/or a letter to Santa Clause and/or offer a gift (a used book, a toy etc) for other children
- Workshops: People could participate in one (or more) of the 54 workshops planned ( eg children creations, treats, bee’s wax ointment, pottery, melomakarona, music instruments, handicrafts etc)
- Children activities (at ‘Marathokosmos’ nursery school)
(eg story telling, musical narrative, face painting, games/entertainment)
- Discovering the village on foot (with the escort of a Tour Guide)
- Choreographies (‘Nutcracker’)
- Santa Clause: a) Home delivery of gifts, (after a short ceremony (December 31)
b) Visit and have photoshoots with Him (January 1,2)
- Competitions: a) Tavli (men and women) b) ‘pilotta’
- Shadow theatre
- Magician
- Indoor games
- Customs
- Carols (‘Kalanda’)
- Christmas Lottery
- Kiosks selling: local products, hot beverages, honey, handmade knitwear, herbs, honey balls, chesnuts etc
- Music – music – music
Also:
- Village Icon Treasury will be open
- Local Traditional Museum and community children playground will be open
- A place with animals will be accessible for a visit
- Small busses will transfer people from and to the parking places
- Local restaurants, cafes and shops will have specific activities and offers
- Free WiFi will be available
